We’re very excited to introduce our newest addition, the Mat Stats Newsletter! We were having a bit of an identity crisis here at Taped Laces, where most of our essays are about wrestling culture and participation, but we also have a keen interest in statistics and the learnings that can be taken from them. In order to separate the two and to provide our content in a medium that works best, we have broken out the statistics portion into its own entity in the form of a newsletter. The rationale is that a routine newsletter will allow us to analyze the latest happenings in the sport and provide the findings in short, recurring snippets delivered straight to your inbox. The plan is to generate insights from specific events or time periods (think weekly results during the college season) and eventually we will do some deep dives into teams or individuals. Taped Laces will remain a blog dedicated to long-form thought pieces about the sport.
If this newsletter sounds like something that interests you, please consider subscribing at the link below. Our first newsletter is already up and takes a look at the Men’s Freestyle data from the Paris Olympics. All it takes is an email and we can promise zero spam, just our analytics. Lastly we want to say thank you for your continued support and we hope that our articles provide some value to your life. If you have any questions and/or comments please feel free to reach out via our social media, links included below.
